Mr. Sahil Sayyad, hailing from Karad, was born with Spina Bifida. Despite the challenges, he has emerged as a remarkable Indian wheelchair cricketer. His cricketing journey began in 2017 when he joined Wheelchair Cricket India (WCIA), which guided him to play for the Mumbai Wheelchair Cricket Team. Since then, his dreams have taken flight.
With the unwavering support of his mother and brother, who have been strong pillars in his life, Sahil has represented his state, nation, and now, internationally in cricket. His dedication and passion for the sport have earned him numerous accolades.
Notably, Sahil made a record by scoring an unbeaten 209* runs in a T20 format, achieved in just 75 balls, including 41 fours and 6 sixes. He has been awarded numerous “Man of the Match” and “Man of the Series” titles for his outstanding performances.
Recently, he proudly represented India in the India vs. Sri Lanka APL Apollo Wheelchair Cricket T20I series.
The Spina Bifida Foundation is honored to have supported Sahil by providing him with a sports wheelchair, enabling him to pursue his passion. His story is an inspiration to many, and we celebrate his achievements with immense pride.
